With May fast approaching, I’m getting ready for another exciting performance at the Cardiff Keyboard Club. This will once again be a fantastic opportunity to showcase my music, and the preparation is now in full swing.
Choosing the Setlist
The first step in my preparations is putting together the perfect setlist. I want to include a mix of styles—something to entertain and engage the audience while also showcasing the capabilities of my Yamaha Tyros 4. I’ll be balancing well-known classics with a few surprises, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
At the moment, I’m considering a mix of:
– Instrumental favourites
– Some upbeat tunes to liven the room
– A couple of softer, more atmospheric pieces
One of the tracks I’m currently working on, Crockett’s Theme, may make the cut if it’s polished enough by then!
Fine-Tuning the Performance
Once the setlist is finalized, I’ll focus on refining each piece. This means:
– Ensuring smooth transitions between tracks
– Practicing intros and endings to make the performance feel seamless
– Experimenting with registrations and sounds on the Tyros 4 to get the best possible arrangements
Logistics and Travel Plans
Since this performance is in Cardiff, I’ll also be planning the travel arrangements. Getting my equipment there safely is a priority, as well as making sure I have everything I need on the day.
I’m really looking forward to performing at the Cardiff Keyboard Club—it should be a great event, and I hope the audience enjoys what I put together. I’ll share more updates as I progress!
