This weekend I took a trip over to the beautiful seaside town of Southport.
Southport, known for its vast coastline and sandy shores, often leaves visitors puzzled as to why there is no visible sea for much of the day. The town’s coastline is extremely flat, and the tides recede several miles out. As a result, the sea is often out of sight, giving Southport its unique, expansive beachscape.

My recent trip to Southport was more than just a casual getaway; it was a chance to reconnect with my good friend Jon Taylor, who has been instrumental in setting up my Yamaha Tyros 4 organ. Jon’s expertise and dedication have made all the difference in my current music production setup, and I was eager to catch up with him and see his latest musical acquisition a Roland AT80 organ.

During our visit, Jon and I spent time exchanging ideas, exploring the capabilities of both the Tyros 4 and his new Roland AT80. His enthusiasm for the new organ was infectious, and we even managed to play a few spontaneous pieces together. It was a fulfilling trip, blending music, friendship, and the charm of Southport’s quiet coastal atmosphere.
