There’s something special about the run-up to Christmas—twinkling lights, festive music, and that unmistakable December buzz. This year, though, there’s an extra layer of excitement for me: I’m currently preparing for my first corporate Christmas event of 2025.
It’s a big milestone in my musical journey, and I’m throwing myself right into the preparations. At the moment, my main focus is something I absolutely love working with DMX lighting programming. It’s one of those behind-the-scenes jobs that often goes unnoticed by guests but makes *all* the difference once the event begins.
Lighting the Atmosphere
DMX lighting can completely transform a room, especially at festive events where atmosphere is everything. I’m building scenes, syncing colours, and making sure each lighting moment matches the energy of the music.
From warm gold washes for cosy Christmas melodies to crisp, cool blues for more modern pieces, every scene has its own personality. And because it’s a corporate event, I want the lighting to feel polished, professional, and just a touch magical.
Balancing the Workload
Between rehearsing my set, fine-tuning equipment, and making sure all the cables, stands, and back-up plans are ready, it’s a busy time—one of those “a cup of tea is definitely needed” stretches of the season!
But honestly? I’m loving every moment of it. There’s something extremely satisfying about watching everything come together, bit by bit. Each programmed cue, each carefully chosen sound, each logistics note… it all feels like adding another piece to the Christmas puzzle.
Looking Ahead
As the event draws closer I’m determined to make it special—for the guests, for the organisers, and for myself.
It’s going to be an evening full of music, colour, and festive celebration, and I can’t wait to share the final results when the day arrives.
